Insights & Advice From Our Specialist

Our team will administer hormone injections to the donor to cause her to produce multiple eggs instead of only one per month when she isn’t on medication. Our donor egg IVF specialist then sedates the recipient and removes the eggs using an ultrasound-guided needle inserted into each follicle.

We will attempt to fertilize several eggs using the recipient’s partner’s sperm or selected donor sperm in the laboratory. Known as in vitro fertilization or IVF.

Medication synchronizes the donor and recipient during a fresh transfer cycle. After fertilization has taken place, the embryo (fertilized egg) will be transferred into the recipient’s uterus. Embryos are frozen in a frozen transfer and are usually transferred later on.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

01/ Can I donate more than once?

Yes. If your first donation cycle goes well, it would be a great pleasure to have you back for another egg donation cycle. As you have already completed the initial screening process, repeat donations may take less time.
By law, each egg donor can donate eggs to create a maximum of 10 families.

02/ Will donating eggs affect my fertility?

No. The donation of eggs will not affect your ability to conceive children in the future. While there are some risks with any medical procedure, you will be informed before your donation in detail.

Approximately two million eggs are present in a woman’s body at birth. Each month, a group of eggs begins the maturation process, but your body will only ovulate one egg each cycle, and your body absorbs the other eggs in the group. Fertility medications “rescue” some of these excess eggs that your body is discarding.

03/ How is the screening process carried out?

We will contact you by one of our coordinators for an initial consultation. We will ask you to fill out a questionnaire about your medical, family, and personal history. A blood screening will be required to ensure you are free of infection and have a regular genetic makeup, a counseling session, and a scan of your ovaries to ensure they are healthy.

04/ How long will the process take?

We will complete the screening process in a few weeks. A cycle takes approximately two weeks once you are selected as an egg donor. Approximately three to six months are required for the whole screening of the donation process.

05/ To whom will donated eggs go?

The need for donor eggs is common among women seeking to have a child. There are several reasons why women are at risk, including cancer treatment, premature menopause, carriers of genetic disorders, and congenital conditions. These people have often been through extensive fertility treatment without success.
